Living Well

.

So little action is truly necessary
So much thought a wasteful expense
Equanimity its own true end
Easily achieved
Though honest living
Tempered appetite
And realistic expectation

.

My consciousness
Balances
And teeters
Seeking equilibrium
Upon a fulcrum of will

.

This consciousness
Rides like a cork
Upon a flailing maelstrom
Of atomic relation
And cascading consequence
There shall be no rest
Nor true peace
‘Till this consciousness succumbs its constitution
Dissolves back to atoms
And is lost forever to the sea

.

Peace is found in proportion to virtue, which is an abiding of the governing agency, in accord with our moral framework. Nothing else stills the troubled mind like an honest reckoning of the day’s wages against the values we hold most dear.

.

It is quite possible to be cursed with good fortune. When blessed circumstance offer an irresistible haven from the worthy act of living.

 .

Hope alone is powerless without action
A vain dream amidst clouds
Yelling into the wind
An empty comfort
A feign to life
