Taking life in stages – Sons of Grizzly – LylesBrother

Until very recently humans didn’t live long enough to postpone such milestones as career, marriage and family. With our longer life-spans perhaps we might do well to ration out our ambitions across the full breadth of life.

“Hey Kurt! Well it’s been three weeks into school and it’s been getting better… I’ve got over the other woman and moved on, and just like you said there are more fish in the sea… So the first week went fairly slow I was still pretty introverted at the time second week came by I have a new crush… I saw her during lunch and If you are wondering… Yes, I became a man of action I talked to her even though it was brief and awkward I still made a move and let my ego drop off into the deep end. Unfortunately we couldn’t talk for very long, so I know very little about her… This happened yesterday. So yeah it took me a week and a half to finally man up and talk to her, and after I did I felt so happy even though it was a very short awkward conversation. Before we parted ways she said she would talk to me next week because she wasn’t going to be here today, so I said okay and we left it at that. It was a very awkward introduction, but I did it… Alright so here’s the dilemma the third week rolls by. So before lunch I have a class with this other woman, I was still introverted up until this week. Me and her started talking and we’ve somewhat talked all week and I feel really good chemistry between us, but before I made my move to the woman at lunch I was in denial that I liked the woman in my class because at the time I was somewhat plotting my move with the woman at lunch. Up until today I realized that I somewhat like them both, the thing is I’ve already made my move with the woman at lunch and she knows I like her I think.. So I don’t know what to do…. I like them both. I’m not into dating two women at once and I definitely do not want to lead one of them on… Sincerely, a friend”

The Path of WildnessThe Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast’s track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination

The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don’t bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.
