Robber Fly

Robber Fly’s are fascinating group of predator fly (diptera) of the family Asilidae. These amazing insects are evolved with special defenses to help protect them from the aggressive fighting of struggling prey as well as modified body parts which help them quickly dispatch and consume prey. A Robber Fly will typically ambush and subdue prey with a killing stab from their beak-like proboscis which is in turn used to suck out the liquified internal organs (special chemical released by the fly begin the digestion process).
