What’s God’s Name?

Though I was unable to attend our local community rice harvest festival I did manage to drop by after the event was over to shot a little video and chat with some older men who were hanging out enjoying sake and beer. Though I missed the main event it was interesting to see things in aftermath and to chat a little with some normally reserved village elders whos tongues were loosed a bit with the evenings liquid humor. An interesting discussion ensued over the identity of the three deities enshrined here. Though we were unable to resolve all of the questions it was pleasant to spend time with these men and to get a slight feel for the sense of community bonding which is an important element of these traditional Japanese events.
